It’s very important to understand the nuances and complexities of the concept of IQ specifically, and of many issues in life since they can’t be distilled down to “True” or “False”.

The two crucial issues with consideration and “refutation” of IQ are:
- Quality vs. Quantity
- High vs. Low

Case 1: In terms of “Quality” on the “High” end:

- High IQ can express itself in many qualitatively different ways on the high end.
- Two people X and Y who are high IQ can both go into any of the following: literature, finance, or engineering
- X might choose literature even though they could easily be good at the others
- Y may choose engineering even if they could be good at the others

Case 2: In terms of “Quantity” on the “High” end:

- As people reach higher IQ, that IQ is less predictive of how well they can express that IQ in a particular domain
- IQ will just predict they’ll be pretty good and not very bad
- IQ itself will not be a good predictor of how good they will be in those fields on the high end, even thought it is true that both X and Y could be good at literature, finance, or engineering
